Re: Video from the Expo

That's interesting info about the software available for use on this. When you have imperfections in the individual frames, it matters a lot less when 24 go by every second. Discotek had some interesting ideas with their blu-ray release, but putting on the whole series in Japanese, with subtitles, ...

Re: Video from the Expo

Well, this is the thing. I think they had some big prints of that at the Expo, as well as the original. The Earth HQ and many others are brilliant as well but the moonbase one is especially magical. Photoshop now has a kind of pseudo-AI enlargement option for resizing an image overall, called 'pres...

Re: Video from the Expo

I did try using tineye and google image search to see if I could find a bigger one. The 720p upscale of the show that Gary Cass shared with me is very sharp on a big screen. I wonder if the best way is to get a screengrab from the French DVD version of the show, (which has the best visual quality) ...

Re: Video from the Expo

I always quite liked that there were different versions of astro fighters. There even seemed to be variants of the same design. The "Pluto" design: https://i.postimg.cc/cLJHwtnk/edfships2.jpg But then you also had: https://i.postimg.cc/ZKntL8wN/edfships1.jpg No idea what that is on top, bu...

Sean Barrett Bits & Pieces

Came across this piece in the FT from the back end of last year about Sean's work in the audio novel/narration world: https://www.ft.com/content/761cf9f6-708e-424d-88d6-469c4908d2dc Sadly no Star Fleet shout outs, but it's great to see Sean still going strong with no hint of retirement on the Horizo...

Re: Video from the Expo

Wow, what a fantastic exhibition, many lovely pieces there!

I still think the Pluto astro fighter is one of the coolest ships in the whole show.

Re: Star Fleet is 40 today!

I have mixed emotions when I think of my first viewing all those years ago. I saw the first episode live. I wasn't feeling well, had been spewing all morning, so my mum put it on, mainly as a distraction for me. Absolutely loved it, I was hooked from the get-go. I was 6 at the time, and although I'd...

Re: Peter Marinker Interview

Lol I was so tired when I found/watched this last night that it totally escaped me that it was part 2 that I’d linked to!

Here’s the first part:

Peter Marinker Interview

Lovely interview with Peter Marinker. https://youtu.be/UwDx7tRayK8 SF is briefly covered a few minutes in. Bizarre journey to finding this. Got the new Flash Gordon 4K set a few days ago and watched it yesterday. To my shame this is the first time I’ve watched it in over 20 years. While watching it ...

Re: Infinity Magazine

Nice read that, thanks!

I don’t think I’ve ever read Mark Rolston comment on the series before. So lovely to see him speak so enthusiastically of it.

Can’t believe they missed the Al Matthews connection to Aliens though!
