PC Game: Homeworld

Interesting thought. I'd certainly quite enjoy a Star Fleet version of something like I-War, where you can play multiple command roles at the same time. Great game, I-War. Plus, it's got fighters and various items already in it. It's done by Particle Systems and I've actually met some of the crew wh...

PC Game: Homeworld

You know, now that I think about it, I have actually done a skin mod for Quake 2. It was utter pants, but quite straightforward with the right tools - it was just a case of altering a skin that was normally applied. But of course what we're talking about here is actually building a 3D model from the...

Flash Gordon - anyone remember

Hmm. Well, they used to repeat the old Flash Gordon serials in black and white up until 10 years or so back and they might have used swords. Also, Flash Gordon and Ming were in the Defenders of the Earth cartoon. I certainly can't remember a bit in the movie where Ming goes one-on-one with Flash in ...

Just what is Multimedia?

Traditionally I've split SFXB's Images Videos Sounds section into Gallery, and Multimedia. I was just wondering whether Sounds, which I put under Multimedia, are actually multimedia or not - because they're audio only. Videos are clearly video and sound and therefore "multi"media. Anyone any thought...

Music CDs - Brits promo at Amazon

Quite a nice offer this if you don't have the titles already - getting multiple items from Amazon works out cheaper as well.  6.99 for stuff like Robbie and Kylie's latest albums, plus Gorillaz etc...Funkadelic Baby Yeah!

Updated look

I decided SFXB needed a more site-name related logo; and ended up redesigning my whole Nav section! I also added a roll-over image for chuckles. Full marks to anyone who can spot where the "X" comes from... All the original links are there, and I don't think it'll take you long to get used to the ne...

what do you want

Sulk. No-one tells me anything! But in all seriousness, I think it's only realistic to say that Star Fleet does have a very small "core" band of followers. Most people just want to get hold of videos of the show - witness how many page views the Merchandise threads get. That's fine, it's reminding t...

HAVE THE FULL SERIES IN 24 HOURS!

Ah, but he wants the 1982 version Daz ;) I have now become used to people utterly failing to read my FAQ, merchandise or other pages which would answer that and other frequently asked video questions - although this one surprised even me and I didn't bother replying because I hoped he'd twig! Well, ...

lost it all

Nasty - could have been worse though I suppose. Isn't there a programme called Partition Magic or something which might sort the problem out? I've had no direct experience I'm afraid so I don't think I can be of much help. Game and Electronics Boutique stock the more common recovery utilities and th...

Supporting SFXB

I've finally gotten around to updating some of the ads on my site for videos etc - most now tie in more closely to the content of the section concerned. I'd be interested to know how many people reading this are existing BlackStar customers who didn't register through my site - it may be more worthw...
