Time for a new machine...

Quote Quote: from AndyThomas on 3:11 pm on Mar. 8, 2002one of the new Macs was looking very angle-poisy and whiteForgive my ignorance of British idioms, but is this a good thing or bad?Oh, and it's taking me quite a bit of time to write up my response. Time for a new machine...

Aaaah, I'm the man to ask regarding any topic that mentions the Mac. :biggrin:I may be a Mac user and fan, but I'm no blind zealot. I can point out many of the pros and cons to owning a Mac. I'll post a long-winded response to this in just a minute, once I've gathered all my thoughts and info...(Edi...

I'll bet you didn't notice...

...that the topic indicators in the forum were copied from Apple's fancy Mac OS X......and the Announcements icon is from Apple's older Plaintalk text-to-speech and voice recognition software. It's just a little something that made me smile as a big Mac user.

Star Trek+Wars+Fleet mixes

Quote Quote: from AndyThomas on 9:30 am on Mar. 8, 2002I've only watched the second one so far, but it's very well cut and highlights perfectly the Star Wars cash-in element of Star Fleet.Ah, then you certainly need to see the first one. My favorite of the two, the first clip introduces the Imperial...

Broadband in the UK?

I'm curious, how common are broadband Internet connections in the United Kingdom? Are cable, DSL, and T1's widely available in residential areas at a reasonable price? I ask because I just realized that the few files I've posted could be extraordinarily large for anyone on a dialup connection. Here ...

QTVR of new Imperial Fighter

Okay, here's a minor update on the transport. I've got the texture looking okay and have tinkered with some particle emitters to make a nice engine flare. Now, the engine looks really superb when animated. I've patched on a simple docking interface if I want to hook it to the larger ships. I've buil...
