New Mecha Section

Just seen the new Mecha section - I *had* been expecting a couple of pictures and a couple of lines for each entry......instead we've got a blooming encyclopedia!Glad to see lots of pictures of my beloved fighter carriers... Small note about the EDF recon ship - "AWACs" variants of fighter-type craf...

Happy Birthday Star Fleet

Quote Quote: from AndyThomas on 12:16 am on Oct. 31, 2002I think it would also be worth raising a glass to those who have contributed to the memory of the show over the past few years - were it not for their enthusiasm this celebratory thread wouldn't even exist!Indeed! Heres to another twnety years...

Happy Birthday Star Fleet

Congratulations to the crew of the X-Bomber!And also to Makara and Co, because without her, well, it wouldn't have been such a great show, would it? Just out of interest, though, is this the anniversary of the UK air date, the Japanese air date, or some other time?

CNX - whos watching?

Just curious - its sometimes difficult to judge just how popular anime is in the UK from the crystal towers of long-time fan circles (the kind that laugh at all the jokes - without subtitles!). [1]So, is anyone here watching CNX? What do you think? Cowboy Bebop is probably the best thing on there at...

Optimus

You could spend just a *little* more and buy one of the Japanese Generation Re-Issues. Forbidden Planet in London had both Jazz and Prowl last time I was there, or you could order them from a specialist web-site like HobbyLink Japan. Its possible that the original Optimus Prime will be re-released i...

Japanese-English

Quote Quote: from AndyThomas on 9:18 am on July 10, 2002One other thing - when you consider when this dubbing work was done, very early 80s, Manga Entertainment wasn't even a twinkle in someone's eye.  So I suppose the industry's experience with translating Japanese shows must have been relatively l...

Star Fleet game

Quote Quote: from AndyThomas on 8:03 pm on Oct. 11, 2002Heh.  "Kewl".  R-Typetastic!  As I may have mentioned a few weeks back, I've been thinking about giving my ships section in the overview part of SFXB its own section because it's the sort of thing I could ramble about very easily!  I'm not sure...

Thanks! My friend said the toys were pretty neat, and having seen who made them - Popy - I can understand why.

Ulysses 31 toys

I met a friend today and we discussed Star Fleet and a couple of other things for a bit, and Ulysses 31 came up. Does anyone have any information or links to any of the toys or other merchandising from the series, as hes a bit interested. Thanks in advance!
