Space 1970!

http://space1970.blogspot.co.uk/Great, fun site if, like me, you grew up hoping to snatch a bit of "The Last Starfighter" before someone came home and switched over to the football/wrestling/snooker or other boredom inducers... Theres some real treasures here - I never knew that Mattel did an absolu...

Duran Duran

I always liked "Ordinary World", but thats probably a bit later than what you're going for. I think with Duran Duran its something that was "of the time"; there really was a time when MTV actually played music videos, and there actually was a time before pop videos. Duran Duran were sort of early pi...

dai-x

I have the small vinyl one from the second ebay link. Its a typical "railway kiosk" style toy. I know theres a "Jumbo Machinder" Dai-X toy but the "Dekander Robo" label and colouring suggests that it might be a knock-off...?

The Boy from Andromeda

(Vanessa @ Mar. 14 2012,00:56)QUOTEThinking back, I do have a very vague recollection of a childrens show I saw in the 80's and I've never been able to find anything at all about it since. It was a puppet show, (although not Sci-Fi, sorry) and there were various characters played by animals, a bit ...

Terrahawks Under the Sea

Bit of a late follow-up, but Gainax, the studio behind Evangelion, have put Anderson tributes in several of their shows - the equally nautically based "Secret of Blue Water" (aka "Nadia of the Mysterious Seas") features a Thunderbird 2 parody launch sequence, the generally-regarded-as-the-best-OAV-t...

"Gentlemen, this is our new consultant on Kicking UFOs in the Face!".The Thunderbirds movie re-designs were pretty good, considering (though someone really should have paid Rolls-Royce whatever they wanted). The trouble with the Eagle is that its just about perfect as it is - well, if you discount t...

You're... joking? Thats a joke, right? You're not joking...? Oh, my.And there won't even be a Raul Julia to say things like "For you, Koenig, the day the Moon was blasted free of Earth was the worst day of your life. But for me... it was Tuesday."I am a bit worried about the iconic Eagle - its one o...

Interster - the South African Star Fleet?

Apologies for my inaccuracies, I was going by what I was originally told about the series. Its interesting how they managed to vary some of the puppet heads a bit, though the model works seems to be a bit less polished than some of the Anderson series.
