Re: Discotek Media releasing Star Fleet in US

http://www.rightstufanime.com/Star-Fleet-DVD It's available for pre-order from Rightstuf Anime for $32.48 (or £26.56) I pre-ordered it from there. Also on Amazon, but for $49.95. All it includes is the English dub according to the specs. A bit disappointing, yet not surprising. There's problems that...

Re: Discotek Media releasing Star Fleet in US

On Saturday, Discotek is having a panel at Otakon where they're going to announce new titles and info on remaining titles. Hopefully a release date for "Star Fleet".

It's a shame there was never an enemy robot to fight in the show like the makers intended.
I think you essentially get that with the Death Ball, even if it's not technically a Robot.

Episode 2 translation

I was given this by the friend I had translate episode 1 back in 2013, but I never got around to posting it. He never got to episode 3 or 18, which were all I asked him to translate. So here it is, making sure it doesn't just disappear.

Re: Diskotek Media releasing Star Fleet in US

I just can't believe they didn't fix the fps issue when developing the HDTV standard. At least movies can play correctly at 24fps on blu-ray, but there are still frame rate issues converting between US and UK TV. On DVD you have to convert. Star Fleet's masters sure aren't good enough for blu-ray, ...

Re: Diskotek Media releasing Star Fleet in US

Low pitched, because it was slowed down to 23.976fps - the standard movie frame rate here. The funny thing is that the intro theme is fine - it runs at the original speed, while the rest runs 4 frames slower. There's no way to convert 25 to 23 without slowing down (or vice versa, no way to convert t...

Re: Diskotek Media releasing Star Fleet in US

Hopefully they might get the 35mm prints like what were used on the 3 UK tapes. My only concern is that they'll use the wrong pulldown method and it'll end up being slowed down by 4 frames to 23.976fps instead of converted to 29.97fps. That's a real pet-peeve to me as an audiophile, it really bother...

Re: Diskotek Media releasing Star Fleet in US

If they are, then my remastering project will probably just be a PAL remaster edition. Been working on it for 3 years at this point, so I'm not going back on it. I hope it's good enough to get a better result from the first/last scenes of the next episode previews for it because no matter what I do,...
