Here's a little preview of the Dai X model I am converting from Royloo's Gundam original. I've mainly worked on the head and the re-coloring of the bodywork so far. There's still a fair way to go with it, but I've managed to animate a short flight sequence featuring the model which worked out surprisingly well. The AVI file is 5mb and can be found here:http://www.bigdaix.com/bigdaixflypast.AVIShane.

Thats REALLY cooly, yourself and brad would make an awsome media/graphics team, maybe Simon will distribute it through his media sales network !REALLY impresed, what software are you using to develop these movies ??Mike and Dave have storyed perhaps something could come of that.

Cheers Matt. I used POSER 4 to create that animation, which is just a wicked and easy to use piece of software.I totally agree with you Matt there's a lot of creative types on here. If we all worked together I'm quite positive we could make a mini movie of some sort, even if it's just a minute or two long. We could always try emulating scenes from the series, keeping the original audio track, while swapping the puppets and model shots with CGI. It's just an idea.Other ideas:Re-do the opening or end title sequence.make CGI versions of favourite scenes, and then edit them together.Re-create a full battle scene. (one of the Dai X ground attacks maybe?)I know many of us are working on individual projects: Genesis, Future Echos, TROM etc, which are all going to be great, but wouldn't it be more inteligent to work together to create something BIGGER than our individual projects? I Don't mind which site hosts it or who takes the credit I just want to get something cool done for October.Right, Jedi style ramblings over. I'm off to start work on DAI X vs Death Ball V.2Shane.

Genesis was always intended, first and foremost, to create a short show-reel of what might be done with the series using CGI. The writing element of it got a bit out of control (!) but if you look back at the section you'll see the storyboards that are in place outlining something that could be done. What was always missing from them was characterisation, but it seems that Shane could now provide that. So it would seem logical to identify something to do, agree on a final output format, and then assign roles to individuals. Clearly Brad would be the best option for ships, Shane for characters, some combination of the two for music, dunno about voices (could use the series presumably) and then a final editor to bring the seperately produced clips together which I might be able to handle if they're in AVI. Thing is, even my storyboard requires quite a few ship models. I also like the idea of re-doing the intro - even if it was just the X Bomber's launch sequence. I'd really like to see that re-done...

As Mr Burns would say: Excellent!I think that the opening sequence using the original soundtrack would be a great starting point.I know Mike's doing stuff with Poser as well now so I'm sure we could share the workload. And I can render my poser anims as AVI's so no problems there.Right I have some characters to build!Shane.
