Its a lovely idea, though potentially there could be some copyright issues... The only other problem I can see is that Big Dai-X would beat everything else instantly...! Oh, and I will never, ever forgive you if you't do a Commander Makara card!

I think the addition of powerlevels, power up, addtional armourments ext could be incorpaerated into the game, in the form of other cards.Barry could be given an armourment power up cards which equips him with a blaster.so more a game of chance and having the right cards.Dai-x was beaten by the Imperial planet, and particialy by the deathball 2 so theres a good fight i'd like too see tranfered to this medium.less top trumps more like YU-GI-OH but without the crap monster names. If anyone has anything else that could be incorperated into the games, rules ect please feel free to add sugestions.

Started on the card designs. Each card is placed into a catagorieCharacterMechaBattleshipsAdd OnsAll cards contain the following informationCard NameCard TypePower Level 1-10Special Powers or Abilities. Some character cards require a dice to be rolled to activate special abilities or weapons fire. When a basic deck has been compleated (which should be by next month) a base deck will be avalible in swf format to download so you can create your own additional cards.I'm working on transfering the infomation so you can print out the cards front and back onto actual card.I myself can't wait to see this project take shape.we can hold tournements lol

I'm looking forward to seeing these - I'm glad you used "mecha" as a title rather than the increasingly common "mech" - a small bugbear of mine... grr...

But wouldn't battleships fall under the "Mecha" heading - I think someone here suggested it for my section on the ships etc because it would be quite broad. "Mechs" I'd associate with shorthand for Battlemechs from the Battlemech/Mechwarrior series. I'm trying to think if there's some sort of universal term for fighting robots but they tend to be quite specific to each series, like Mobile Armour Suit, Zords, etc.I'm not familiar with how the Yugioh cards work (only just remember Top Trumps) but would you not break "Battleships" down - wouldn't you have fighters, carriers, warships, motherships? Although that's another question - is X-Bomber a carrier because it carries the Dai-X fighters, or some sort of pocket battleship (big firepower for its size)? Is the Imperial cruiser a carrier and warship? Perhaps you can have stats giving effectiveness in multiple categories, I don't know.

Strictly speaking, "mecha" can even denote a clock! It can be used as a catch-all term for any mechanical device; there have been a number of anime series which have credited mecha designers, despite not having a giant walking robot in sight. The term is generally used by Western anime fans as being specific to giant robots; Japanese productions have used all kinds of names for giant robots (the most famous of which is probably the Mobile SUITs [1] from Gundam) but if theres a different collective term for them as a whole I've yet to come across it. I was wondering about "Battleships" myself - perhaps "Warships", "Fleet Units", or Chekovs favourite - "Wessels" - I mean, "Vessels" - might be better. In Naval terminology, fighting ships have relatively distinct classifications - e.g. Cruiser, Battleship, Corvette, etc. but Japanese designs in anime tend to have more mixed roles - this might be because Japan actually developed hybrid ships during World War II, such as the Ise class carrier/battleships and the awesome aircraft-carrying I-400 class submarines.
