not sure where too put this post but here's the link to a site i found tonight with pics of Ginga Taisen the show responsable for some of the footage shown in messege from space. Had a chat with a bloke at the NEC on Sunday who says he can order San ku kai and Messege from space on dvd for me.http://www.classichero.com/

For those wondering, you can find the pictures in the Tokusatsu section. I'm assuming from the context that "Ginga Taisen" is an alternative name for the "San Ku Kai" series?For those just joining us, the reason this is being mentioned here is that several of the designs and concepts in the San Ku Kai series, and in the movie derived form the series called Message from Space, are very similar to those in Star Fleet (although you can also see similar ideas in other Japanese shows). The spaceship special effects are fairly similar to Star Fleet's but this is a live action show of the sentai variety.I do find the distinctions being drawn between the series on that site quite interesting - the term "sentai" is being used as a trademark for Toei productions so other series are getting grouped outside of that section even though I'd have thought they fall under "sentai" in a general sense. Anyone able to shed some light on that?
