Yes, it's pretty impressive. A pity CBS/Paramount introduced their ridiculous fan film guidelines so future installments won't actually be Star Trek.

Star Trek Continues does a great job with the TOS era; and they seem to be ignoring the guidelines for now.

Those guidelines I read on startrek.com were laughable.
What I found amusing was the real sense of entitlement that Paramount seemed to demonstrate.
... that and the idea that anyone really 'owns' Star Trek, which (I think a lot of people would agree), is more than just a TV show.

The whole underpinning of that show was that property and ownership were not the future and that, without co-operation and understanding, you would seldom achieve anything.
So for Paramount to come across as so prescriptive and controlling in their document just put me right off.
