After Crash asked folks to put stuff on the new-look X-Archive site, I decided to scan the "3D" picture of the X-Bomber crew from the 2nd April 1983 Look In magazine.I've scanned it in high-resolution and uploaded it.You need to view the image with 3D glasses with the Left lens Red and Right lens Green. I got such a pair off eBay for 99p.Viewing the on-screen version as compared to the printed one in the mag, there doesn't seem to be much difference in overall 3D effect quality. However, I found the 3D effect to be not that great anyway. Maybe ity's my eyes...?

Thank you Crash.I have been given an X-Bomber LP record by a friend. It's all in Japanese, by the group Bow Wow, and is the original X-Bomber soundtrack LP. Included with the LP is a great 2-sided poster. I would like to scan the poster and the LP, including the inside covers as they have lots of details (sadly all in Japanese) about the songs, the show and the characters. I could try to get it translated somehow maybe...But for now, I just want to upload the images. I have access to a high-res A3 scanner and can scan the images at the same 300dpi res that I used for the 3D image. The scanner will go up to 600dpi, but the file sizes are HUGE!I am a complete novice at all this, and I noticed that my "X-Bomber in 3D" image has already used up half of my data allocation on X-Archive (that red/green bar graph thingy). If I scan the LP & poster, that will create large files, maybe too large for X-Archive? I don't want to upload grainy low-res images as that would annoy me. So what do I do? Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated, but remember to use simple language as I'm a total duffer at this kind of thing.

Wow, you don't come across an A3 scanner or printer every day.Or the original Japanese soundtrack either. I never imaged we'd get any really big scans of that.It should generate some great images. You've got no limit now. I limited "normal users" to 10megs in case some idiot decided to join and tried to upload a huge amount of rubbish.Max size of an image is 10megs and its maximum dimension is 10,000 pixels so that'll not restrict you. I would see how 300dpi looks and if it doesn't fill the screen, go higher.I think that'll be great.

Cool! Thank you for your help, and for allowing me to have a larger upload limit. Now I understand a bit more about the limits placed on the X-archive site.I will make sure that no single image is larger than 10MB.I am very lucky to have been given the X-Bomber LP.The scanner access is a "perk" (ahem) of where I work  I'll try and sort it this week

Yeah, I just looked and the individual file limit's 100meg now. So that really won't cause any trouble.

Right, well I've scanned the X-Bomber Japanese soundtrack LP sleeve, plus poster. Sadly even at A3, the scanner couldn't quite pick up everything (LP's are slightly bigger than A3), so I've had to do things in stages. Now I've got to try to patch the images together in PhotoPhop. For me that's like trying to wade through treacle.Maybe I can get my friend, who's a whiz with PS, to do it for me... It was his album after all Watch this space!Next in line I'm going to try to locate an even bigger scanner as I've just got hold of some of Mike Noble's original artwork for the Star Fleet Look In comic strip. It's in A2 and is just beautiful, all done in Pen and Ink, with handwritten speech text and the speech bubbles all cut out and stuck on by hand. Just awesome!By a stroke of luck it's one of my favourite pages from the strip, where Shiro tries to kidnap Makara but fails. If I can get this scanned properly to do it justice, I'll upload it to the X-archive.Now all I need to do is try to get hold of the Look In mag with that strip in it. It was No. 27, from 1983, page 20. eBay has every one except that one Her impossible search continues...

Wow! Original Mike Noble Star Fleet artwork - That's a bit of a collector's item. Look after that!I think the artwork for the Look In strips was absolutely incredible. It also triggers a childhood memory of me going to my local newsagent very early in the morning each week in the early 80s to buy my copy of Look In.
