Cheers. I've come across one Gerry Anderson Address in Buckinghamshire, and one at "Commercial Talent Inc" in Los Angeles. I suspect the latter may be a different guy?

Well I thought the Fireball screening went well at the weekend, and Gerry was on reasonable talkative form, only made a couple of errors. I always thought that the XL5 series being in Black & White made it seem 'special and more interesting' but the colourised episode was fantastic, brought the show almost up to the quality of Stingray. I just wish they would now colour them all. Nice dvd box set too, far better than the standard dross packaging put out by the normal tv companies who simply don't understand or care about the fans. It includes a documentary about the making of the show, one of the best I've ever seem made.

That's one hell of a good post - I just wish I'd been there too.Colouring XL5 completely would be excellent - it was always a cool show but the black-and-white just didn't work well with the puppets. I watched all of UFO the other month. I'd only seen a couple of episodes at most before that and it was FANTASTIC. I think what made it good was how it was pretty granite-hard sci-fi, really dark and pessimistic and incredibly ahead of its time, it seemed to me.The guy who really stole the show for me though was Ed Bishop playing Straker. He really was a '70s Dr Greg House (only not a bastard underneath). You didn't have to want him to be a good-guy to see that he really was and just hid it completely from his staff. The way he put people in their place and ordered them around was great too.

If I'm ever stuck for a present for my dad, in future, I could get The Complete Gerry Anderson, which I saw in WHSmith's in the early 90s (would probably have to go to Amazon for it these days). It had character and episode synopses for each of Gerry's shows. I was only interested in the Terrahawks pages, but my dad likes all of Anderson's creations.I'm now the same age that my dad was in 1984; how can this be? Too scary for words!!!

There was a very similar book in the library here when I was little. It summarised every episode in all his series; even Dick Spanner. It was very photograph-rich as well.Actual high-street shops don't help you these days. I went to get some supplies for my SLR after my digital EVF developed a problem. They ripped me off for over £30 for new batteries, film and to get a 36exp film processed. Woulda been half that if I'd done it all online.

No worries, 'The Complete Gerry Anderson' book has been revised and reprinted several times over the years, the latest was only a year or two ago so its usually available in specialist shops and online.I'm not sure if it will need revising again as it doesn't look as if Gerry will be doing any more shows, I think he's pretty much retired now.

Well, now that he's bought back the rights to Thunderbirds, we might get a proper, non-americanised continuation of one of the best TV shows ever made. And in addition, there is the UFO movie. It seems sad that he seems to have had so little material gain and kudos in life despite having made some of the best-loved TV shows of all time.Perhaps if he'd worked in America he might have obtained the proper support. The way ITV basically abused and squandered a national institution is fairly terrible to my mind.

Unfortunately the Thunderbirds project is all talk and sadly no action at the moment, as suggested the support of the television company is not great and things these days just aren't done like they were - its going to be years before we see anything and thats only if everything gets sorted and agreed - in the old days it was simply heres the money and get on with it!Personnally I think remaking such a series is too problematic and you will never satisfy the publics expectation, and its bound to disappoint - far better in my opinion to remake a lesser show like Fireball XL5, or even better bring back Terrahawks!
