I've been tidying up some of my doodles on the website and adding some narrative about some of them to give a bit more background about the game's story.

Does this seem like an interesting new direction to go down for a little while to anyone or would people rather see more progress on the game itself?

Would anyone like to see more or less progress on the Rain Song side-story to the game?

Would people like to see more done with the website of forum on the other hand?

Definitely...there's a link to a gambling website in their profile (I've been online for so many years that recognising spam has become second nature...!).

Well-spotted, how do they seriously expect to drive traffic or boost their rankings by doing that?

I deleted someone without a trace.

... I just hope it was the right user.

One of the things Google uses to rank a website is the number of links to it from other websites. By registering on loads of forums, posting something seemingly innocuous, but including a link to a particular website in the user's profile, they're attempting to improve that website's ranking in Google searches, as the profiles on public forums will usually get indexed by Google and the links they contain will count towards the website's ranking.

This one was a pretty shoddy attempt, though: obvious spambot posting rather than tailored to the individual forum; no lying dormant before adding the spam profile, to minimise detection; no search keywords included with the website link...
