Well, it's not flattery.
I'm still delighted with the Blender logo you did for the game.
It makes me feel proud and awesome every time I see it. I'm really grateful.

Is it a lack of time? I can relate to that given recent times.

Things are easing off a bit though and I'm starting to find enough time to work on the game itself.

Lack of time, lack of focus (I've got too many incomplete projects in "progress"), lack of motivation. I'm more productive when I have some external purpose.

Beam Sidearm

Post by Crash »

I guess you gotta focus on one, wrap it up and move onto the next.
Sometimes you've got to take a rest and do something completely different until you wander across whatever thing helps you with them.

I'd love to hear more about them anyway.

And for today, I spruced up the SDD beam sidearm, which is a miniaturised positron blaster and is still a prototype in very limited availability in the field by the end of the events of the game.

This one took a bit of scanning with it being an A3 book and an A4 scanner.

I had to add a smaller version to the gallery because the original was even too big for SLIR to thumbnail.

Thank heaven, I can take down the photos I took of it with my Dell Streak back in 2011.

I'm not quite finished revamping this but it looks OK so far:

Here's another one down.
It took a few tries to make it presentable. That's why it's waited until now.

Death-X - Combining Type

Post by Crash »

It's been a while since we saw anything added to here.

It must have been a hectic year since March. I can certainly think of quite a lot of things I've managed this year, including some progress on the game itself recently. The game and its site are in reasonably good condition at the moment so here's some reworked 'concept art' from the game:

In an unusual turn of events, I made this my first upload to deviantArt. We'll see if it draws any attention to the project:

Quantum Blaster Prototypes

Post by Crash »

When I was revamping the sprite for the Quantum Blaster, it took me quite a while to come up with an interesting way for two rifles to combine into a double blaster.
Here are some of my first attempts:

I've had this on my desk for a while. I'm not sure exactly when it got done.

In the game, the RFSG backpack now appears on the Dai-X when the weapon is picked up.

As promised, here are some of the later quantum blaster concepts which are close to what you get in the game now:
