I just watched the behind the scenes bits on my DVD's with Go Nagi San and Louis Elman talking about how they would love to do another series if they have enough intrest.I say we muster our forces  (as orion would say)I've got a pretty solid story for a season 2 with plenty of new characters, as well as some excellent new stuff to make it look less like a 30 year old show.I know that it would work great as a live action series considering that Power Rangers racked up a good 17 seasons. so maybe we could bring it back as a live action series instead.you're thoughts?

In terms of visuals, yes I think it could work in that vain of power rangers, however thats as far as I would link it to PR.Now dont get me wrong PR is cool, atleast the old ones anyway, but they are way more childish than even SF, so keep that as it is and give it the looks of PR and I think you have a good combo for a great show.

I for one wouldn't like a live action version of SF. It would lose a huge part of it's unique feel and look. A new season would be exciting though.

CGI would be preferable to live action - something along the lines of Star Wars Clone Wars.

(Crash Override @ Jan. 08 2010,19:49)QUOTECGI would be preferable to live action - something along the lines of Star Wars Clone Wars.Couldn't agree more Crash.I've watched a few of episodes of Clone Wars and it screams out - Star Fleet. The characters are aesthetically built like puppets and substitute all the Star Wars tech for Star Fleet add in a big red robot and your away. Its defo how Star Fleet would and could evolve in today's world. It would have to be more pacey than the original series though to keep the interest of the new generation of short attention spanners, but it would also need to keep it's dark streak to fully qualify as true Star Fleet.

It's quite good isn't it?EZTV.it has the latest episodes of Clone Wars for Bittorrent. I think you could afford to make it less pacy than Clone Wars.Children aren't as bad as you think - that's why our younger family members are still mystified by Thunderbirds, the long, graceful take-offs, loading of pods and offloading of vehicles. I think even if I were 4, I would find Clone Wars a little light sometimes for my taste.I remember they did cut-down 30min power-ranger-esque versions of Thunderbirds for America and it really flopped. That's one thing that Gundam misses out on - the designs are amazing but the action is too fast and cut-up that you can't see the machines. Kids are like knowledge sponges when you give them giant robots and spacecraft, and they want to know HOW does it work.In Gundam SEED Destiny - the Impulse Gundam assembles like the Dai-X from 4 parts but don't ask me to draw a diagram of how it does it, the way I could for Dai-X, despite the fact that you see it constantly in the show.

It depends on the budget, Ive never really watched this star wars you guys are talking about apart from the movie which I didnt like, but I would think even its tv show version would have a decent budget.I cant see SF getting that same love, and Ive seen some quite horrific CGI shows, however a live action show might not be much cheaper, it depends.Either way if it happened it would most certainly be 2D animation comming out of Japan. Also I doubt it would be Season 2, more like season 1 extended or alternative , much like the old guyver series vs the new series a couple years back, the story starts from the beginning, but goes further than the old show. This would have to be the case for SF because a 20 year gap is not something kids are going to check up on to see what happend before.

This sort of question is like a double edged sword. The likes of us who grew up with the original would love any new show to keep the feel and look of the original, yet to the producers of todays shows, it just wouldn't happen. I liked Thunderbirds but never liked the new film - never watched it actually, seeing clips and synopsis threads put me off.So while I would like to see a new series of SF, I fear that it would look less like the original for my liking. The perfect time would have been straight after series 1.
