Zordon/Jiraiya’s Lego Thread

Post by Jiraiya »

Hi all, it’s been a very, very long time since I used the boards. Nearly 10 years to be exact. In that time I’ve had a number of things happen.

I am now a stay at home dad of 3 and a career for my oldest son Jake. Very rarely get any free time to go over old stuff or even contribute to the fandom these days.

I have though just begun to sort through a huge mass of Lego parts rebuilding old Star Wars 1999 - 2015 kits and made a bit of progress on a few other kits too (Ninjago mainly).

It has fired up an interest in me I thought I had lost a while back and remember many years ago building X-bomber at my parents place by salvaging an Imperial Transport (Palpatines transitory)
Thus converting it into the flying broken neck Turkey.

With some new Moc’s showing up on brick sites across the net I might take up the challenge to produce an UCS style X-bomber .

It goes without saying that this would be a most challenging build and the size would have to be big enough to house Dai-X.

I’ll post a few updates once I have planned this out. But for now enjoy a look at some of my old kits.

Hi! Great to hear from you,
I've obviously been using facebook too much. I was looking for a like button but there is none on this forum.
I guess the idea is that we actually have write something.

Looking forward to seeing more on that!

Just something I whipped up between dropping the kids off to school.

That's pretty sweet.
They seem to do a *lot* more subtle colours of bricks than they used to, in order to be able to do Star Wars and other Lego sets in vaguely realistic colours.
Before that, you had white, black yellow, red, green and blue. And that was pretty much it, apart from some translucent, coloured pieces that were used for the space Lego.

Nice work! Did you see Andy's version? https://ideas.lego.com/projects/f27a579 ... dcc4543036

Grey rather than green, as I recall - there were a few green pieces like baseplates and trees, but not regular bricks. A pretty odd ommission by Lego.

That's true. I don't remember seeing an actual green brick per se. :)
