This would be a good place to puzzle over the contents of the new article on SFXB about the Oriental Cinema magazine extracts. Comments?

New-ish information

Just read the article snippets, I was particularly intrigued with the front cover image which features the precursor design of Makara in the shape of the character from Message from Space. I've never really looked into MFS I'll have to take a gander at it now. The little articles regarding X bomber/ Star Fleet aren't terribly subjective are they? It's difficult to take it seriously when the guy mentioned how they replaced X Bomber's excellent guitar based music with some crappy synth pop. I know for a fact I wouldn't still be a fan of the show now if Star Fleet had retained the original Japanese score. I'll be fair though and agree that it's true that certain episodes drag pretty horendously. The recent vid file I put up is just 4 minutes of continuous talking, you just wouldn't be able to get away with that in this day and age (Thanks a lot MTV). I do think though that people in the UK just "get" certain things wheras Japan and USA are probably a little too fussy. AOTC is a good case in point the critics slagged it off in the US while it got glowing reviews over here and did some really serious box office to boot. We know a good thing when we see it, ooohh yes! Shane.
I like parties, I like fun, I want to live in a hamburger bun!
