Japanese model kits

Post by AndyThomas »

Gareth recently sent me over what I assume was a scan of model kit box for Dai X that I hadn't seen before - but this Dai X box I haven't seen before?http://page3.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/c24124127

Ah - looking at those images you sent me, they're also Mark kits? It's just that the illustrations are different - did Mark do a couple of larger Dai-X and X-Bomber kits as well? I'd seen the cruiser and the fighter before now, and had assumed there were others in that range, but the images you sent me the other week don't seem to show kits that are a part of that particular series?

Ah, right - so they're responsible for the retina-damaging rubber models! So that Dai-X model in the auction is the standard box that fits in with the 1 to 4 series (which presumably Gareth hasn't managed to find up till now?) whereas the other Dai-X box is more of a deluxe item...
