Star fleet: Omega saga part 1Chapter 1: Checkmate5 years have passed since the imperial alliance waged war on earth. In this time, the earth defence forces have begun to slowly rebuild in the wake of the alliance's destruction.Edf no longer holds total responsibility for the planets protection. The industrial arms company Nael, decided the build their own league of defensive counter-measures. And at the head of their production committee was the chief designer of X-bomber, Professor Subaro Hagen. At their disposal Nael could launch its attack mecha within a matter of seconds. Smaller bionic suits, similar in design to Dai-X but without its combination or heavy cumbersome weight slowing them down. With their track record and performance unbeaten, it was decided that EDF's flagship the X-bomber, would be decommissioned. The crew either retired or went onto other active services. It was said that at least one of the crew joined the frontline ranks as a pilot. The whereabouts of the other two are unknown. With all but a few short months, Edf was left with a stalemate. Either shut down operations or become part of the frontline forces of Nael's collective armada.General Kyle, now in his later years made it very clear that Earth had narrowly escaped certain doom, and that if it was not for the crew of X-bomber the planet would have perished. To dishonour the memories of the fallen and the bravery of a handful of young men, who put their live on the line for others, seemed like it had been quickly dismissed from earth's history. The chairman of Nael a Sabastine Lagun, thought that if it was not for a civilian vessel such as X-bomber that the Edf forcefully commissioned from moon base, that earth would have fallen sooner. It was this motion that led to Edf's closure the following year.General Kyle had made his thoughts known; he would not take part in a company that would so easily dismiss the past, only to benefit their own future. And so the great general retired.Professor Hagen, now head of the advanced robotics division of Nael's vast empire. Had been commissioned to develop a new type of mobile deployment weapon, able to destroy a large fleet if needed. The professor questioned as to why earth would need such weaponry if the Alliance had already fallen during the millennium battle. The chairman simply responded that earth would not come face-to-face with such Alien forces ever again. Nael would lead an attack on the alliance home world and anyone else who stood against their plans for planetary wide peace.Hagen said that this act of planetary genocide would only lead earth to its somewhat delayed destruction. The professor was arrested for committing the highest form of treason, the verdict of the council ruled that Hagen during  his time on Mars had grown fond of his alien daughter and this act of compassion had blinded him from the truth that all aliens no mater their goal or background should be irradiated at all costs. The verdict further ruled that Hagen himself was an alliance conspirator having worked so closely with the defective captain Carter. The trial went on for two more days. The judge made a point as too why Hagen had disappeared from the Mars research facility. Hagen replied that after x-bomber had begun construction that he took time off to work on another project, this was something that needed his full attention. Lagun stood as the plaintiff, saying that Hagen had a duty and obligation to construct the battleship and see it through to completion. Evidence was brought forward that classed X-bomber as incomplete, that Dr Benn did not have the knowledge of the missing components.Lagun pressed the mater further. The judge asked for proof of these allegations. Presented where detailed schematics of the ship during its design stages, there in a section below the hull was a quantum accelerator. The judge not understanding the design flaw asked as to the significance of these findings.Lagun then described that this quantum accelerator had sustainable energy meaning that the X-bomber would be able to fire continuously on x-impulse and never need to recharge. Not only would that but its power have been unmatched even against an imperial class cruiser. The courtroom was in an uproar. The judge quieted the room with his gavel and prompted Lagun to continue. If the ship had been completed under Hagen's original designs, it would have been the only line of defence needed to contend with the invading alliance. Thus his absence and inability to pass on this information to his esteemed colleague Dr Benn, not only led to countless lives lost but also the death of his close friend the late Dr Benn. The judge motioned for a recess in then light of this new evidence. Hagen did not waiver during this break, he called out Lagun, asked him straight up, and as to what his interest was in seeing the very people who saved the earth locked away in a maximum security facility and the liquidation of the EDF.Lagun pulled him to one side and quietly said in his ear that he would have nobody to stand in his way. Lagun smirked then regained his composure. Lagun then made the professor a deal that only led too one possible outcome. Spend the remainder of his days locked up knowing that Nael was as corrupt as the alliance, or work without question on an all powerful line of robotic assault craft.Hagen shocked by this offer was aloud mere moments to think it over. It was right then Lagun's slimy smile dropped when he heard Hagen's response.Nael’s only reason was profitable to them as long as those knowing the truth were kept quiet. He would never lower himself to such a standard and that he would somehow reveal the truth of Lagun's deception.Lagun laughed hysterically how would Hagen be able to prove such a thing, the courts had already begin to prepare his cell. The trial continued as the judge asked for the final verdict, Lagun motioned a wave bye bye to the angered professor. Before the verdict could be given Hagen asked the judge if it was possible to bring new evidence for his defence. The judge ruled that unless this new evidence was of any benefit to the trial it should have been brought forward sooner.Hagen said that it had only come to his attention that this evidence would not only clear his name but also prove that the chairman was just as devious and manipulative as the very forces they had defeated 5 years ago.The judge decided that this was relevant even with Lagun's objection. Hagen asked if it would be possible to bring in a member of his crew.Lagun quickly said that that would be impossible at such a time and would only delay the trial further. The judge asked if this crew member was within communications distance and available to give a statement. The professor said that this person was indeed nearby and would be able to attend. The judge agreed that the evidence should be brought forward.Hagen called his witness, the crowds were shocked when the heard a faint humming of what sounded like beating wings. They where even more astounded, when the witness rested down on the table besides the professor. The judge questioned as to why a droid must be brought into this trail. To which Subaro gave a detailed description of the little yellow bots capabilities. PPA had been upgraded with several new applications. One of which came in very handy during the recess. Subaro had a small optical recorder under his lapel of his jacket. And it was recording everything from the trial, including the recess. Lagun stood up and objected to this new information, saying that it could be forged or tampered with. The yellow droid gathered a little momentum with his wings and settled down in front of Lagun. PPA then gave the fundamental rules of his programming including one th
at stated he can not lie.Lagun picked up the folder from his desk and attempted to stun the droid in some way. This only caused the crowd to mutter in slight amusement. The professor then asked his robotic creation to play back the recording with the added visual layers in tact.Bursting from his slightly scratched red visor, a beam of light which spiralled upwards revealing two transparent figures stood glistening with slight sporadic static. The recording played and the court was shocked when they heard the words Lagun had told the professor during the recess. The judge ruled that the case had been engineered by Lagun, by means of gaining the controlling interest in earth's defences. The case was dropped. Subaro was aloud to leave a free man. Acquitted of his charges the professor lightly tapped PPA on his yellow paint chipped head and the two gathered together ready to exit the court room. It was then that the traitorous Sabastine lunged at the professor. Pulling out a small device and aiming it at the thrilled Hagen. The crowds quickly panicked, scrambling to stay clear of the weapon's discharge. Subaro slowly turned to see the small chromed blaster pointing directly at his chest.Subaro stood still as if ready for the oncoming burst from the weapon's barrel. But it never came. The courtroom became soundless, as if trapped in an endless bubble of time. Their on the floor clutching his burned hand, where the gun was once grasped. Sabastine Lagun had been shot. The courtroom was quickly brought to order. The judge signalled two officers to restrain Lagun. The judge with an irritated tone in his voice told the unknown shooter to reveal himself. It was then that a tall slender brunette came forward. The young woman raised her hands dropping the blaster to the floor. Two other guards restrained her with cuffs and brought her before the judge. The woman struggled when presented too the judge. Asking who she was, the reply back stunned everyone including the professor.Miranda Kyle was the name given by Lagun's attacker. Daughter of the General of EDF.

Chapter 2: The Evil That Men Make   Everyone in the courtroom sat back down as the judge restlessly went over the paper work of the case. Increasingly annoyed by these turn of events he stood, scratched his beard and then asked Ms Kyle as to why she had shot Sabastine Lagun. The young woman looked over to the slick backed chairman. She then stated that Lagun not only ushered out her father by force, but also caused his death.Subaro turned to the woman, asking if what she said was true, had this young lady witnessed the great general’s death. The judge also stunned by this revelation asked the same question. The court eerily became silent.2 years ago, the industrial arms company Nael made itself known. Having gathered data from both the alliance and earth's defences, it presented to EDF a proposed contingency plan to protect earth military and economic investments. The best minds from earth and its neighbouring planets gathered and propositioned EDF to step down as the main defence force to maintain peace. With the addition of the Thailian Barrier it would deter any invading forces. The Barrier was a stellar armed weapons depot adrift in space that resided just within the Thailian Zone. If back up would be needed then Nael would launch its countermeasures and deal with the situation.General Kyle at the time wanted nothing of this and asked the committee to reconsider their terms. It was then that the option of EDF’s frontline forces becoming the patrol and somewhat cannon folder of Nael.Kyle was reported to have left EDF and Star Fleet some weeks later. What had been struck from the record was the apparent unknown death of the general that very same week. Nothing was known about this outcome, had indeed the good General been killed in an accident, ill health or something more sinister?Miranda pried further into her story. Located at the scene of the death was piece of paper with the Nael logo printed in the top corner. Miranda pulled this from her file, wrapped in a protective sleeve; she presented this evidence to the judge. The judge looked at the paper then looked at the sweat soaked Lagun. Had this figurehead of such a high profile company committed the crime in question? The judge asked for the paper to be tested to verify if Lagun’s prints where on the sheet.  The Chairman then said it would take too long to do that and it was a waste of time and court resources. The judge then reminded Lagun that he was in contempt and that the entire room had seen him aim the blaster at Subaro. It was then that the good professor recommended his services, or to be more specific PPA’s services. Another of the droids programs included finger print analysis. Included in his data banks where the finger print and DNA information of everyone with in start fleet. Lagun said that he was not part of star fleet so he would not be on the database. He was correct, his information was not included. PPA presented himself to the judge with his usual prim monotone voice. He asked if he could scan the paper to see if their where any prints found.Indeed there was evidence of prints. The droid then hovered over to the desktop of the table where Lagun had his files he had brought to the trial.Scanning these documents he paused for a second………….Then turned his yellow head at the judge.“You’re honour; I conclude that both of these documents present contain the finger prints of Sabastine Lagun Chairman of Nael Industrial Arms Limited”.The court was a flurry with talk, The Judge pointed his gavel at Lagun and began to recite a charge notice. Sabastine Lagun charged with suspected murder of General William Kyle, Charged with the attempted murder of Subaro Hagen, Charge with 2 counts of blackmail and extortion. As the gavel was about to hit down upon the pine base, PPA then made another announcement.“You’re Honour; I also find other evidence on both documents, finger print analysis of persons also within my databanks”.The judge asked the droid as to who the person was.“You’re Honour; the prints belong to Space Pilot Shiro Hagen”.

Chapter 3 :Legendary Shiro Hagen, a space pilot of legendary proportions. The leader of x-bomber’s crew. An ace fighter pilot and keen marksmen.Trained as Captain Carter's protégée, he served as the heroic and iconic face of star fleet academy even after the millennium war.But 5 long years fighting on the frontlines led to the inevitable outcome, the reported death of a hero.Although no body was ever found, Shiro's final battle ended while on a routine mission patrolling outside of the Sargasso colony. The report simulation from his fighter black box stated that his craft sustained heavy fire from an unknown source. A secondary patrol was sent out to comb the area in case there was a slim chance a body could be recovered.Unfortunately Shiro Hagen died while doing the one thing he had begun to accept as his only goal in life.Subaro looked at PPA, astounded by this revelation. How could his son be still alive? Burying his coffin some 2 years ago, surrounded by his friends and colleagues, seeing the wooden tomb laid to rest, earth on pine, piled high, flowers laid, another casualty of this endless war.The judge asked the droid as to how old the document was. It was deduced that the document was at least 14 months old give or take a few days. And it had been over 2 years since Shiro's funeral.Maybe someone had forged the document, maybe someone had printed the document on paper Shiro had previously touched. Either way it was determined that Shiro could not have been present unless his death had been faked. The judge closed the case and Sabastine was escorted out by armed guard.Miranda asked the professor if Shiro could have been involved in the death of her father. He replied that unless Shiro could be found they would never truly know for sure.Subaro made his way back to his apartment on EDF's accommodation block. Throwing his key card and jacket over the back of his couch, he made his way towards his bedroom. He kept thinking about what PPA had previously said. They were definitely Shiro's prints. But why would they be on a document at a murder scene?Putting his head down on his pillow the professor began to run over in his mind this new revelation. Images danced in the darkness playing tricks with his mind. He peered over towards his clock to check the time, unaware of the unknown figure sat opposite his bed cloaked by the ethereal darkness. The light flicked on, and Subaro reached for his blaster. "That’ll do you no god Prof., you know how good a shot I am"."Hercules!!" the professor couldn't believe what he saw, the best marksmen outside of the academy, bar Shiro."You got anything to eat around here, the lard butt's been complaining since we got here".It was then the crashing sound of books and scientific records began falling about. The rotund butterball body of a familiar red headed younger man clambered out of the bedroom cupboard."John Lee?""So where do you keep you're stash of chocolate cookies?"

Chapter 4: Dead or Alive The yellow glowing hue from the apartment’s lamps lit up the room with an almost calm effect.Subaro was still in awe that two members of his crew were sat in his living room.He handed them both a beer as they all looked each other over. It wasn’t until a belch from John Lee broke the tension."So Shiro's not dead?" asked Hercules."We don't know that for sure but it’s a possibility".Subaro still the scientist could not simply say that his boy was alive, No matter how much wishing and good will could bring"."If he's alive I’m gonna kick his ass, that's a given". Hercules supped back another swig of beer, slowly wiping his face with his jacket sleeve."Cuz if he is he's got a whole lot of explaining to do to Emma. His wife Emma Hagen was a pilot just like Shiro. So much more than Shiro expected from a cadet. There time inTraining brought them together, a paring forged in the fires of battle. There passion for space fights and aerial manoeuvrement became there mutual love. And with time they where married. Emma, the pilot and Shiro her commanding officer. After Shiro was pronounced dead, Emma kind of shut herself away. She'd lost her commander, her friend, confidant and lover. And yet she still looked up at the stars every night hoping to see a shooting star thinking it was Shiro pulling some extraordinary tactical manoeuvre.Emma had paid Hercules a few visits. As both he and Shiro were close during the F-01 campaign 5 years ago. Emma barely knew Professor Hagen, even Subaro himself knew very little of his sons life before the Alliance's initial attack 5 years previously. But Hercules was the perfect person she could relate to.Hercules was there as a friend to help Emma get over Shiro's death. And Hercules was more angered that if Shiro had faked his death, why would he have done this to his friends and family?Lee looked over at a framed photo of the crew from their original mission. So many of them gone. The doctor, Lamia, Kirara, Halley, Carter and now Shiro. When was all this bloodshed finally going to end?A knock came at the front door. Subaro got to his feet, slightly stumbling over boxes of schematics and blueprints. It was Miranda Kyle, the generals daughter. He invited her in and she came in and awkwardly tried to find a place to sit down. Finally sitting herself between Lee and Hercules.Lee was giving Barry a look of approval. This woman was hot and Barry knew this."So Ms Kyle what brings you to my abode so late in the evening?"Barry and lee looked back at each other. Kyle? As in General William Kyle?"Professor I think there is something you should know about your son".Subaro was taken back by what Ms Kyle had said."Your son could still be alive".Subaro stood there for a few seconds as his mind began to process what Miranda had just told him.Shiro, alive? That would be impossible Emma herself saw his ship implode before the wreckage was pulled into Sargasso. If the blast didn't kill him, the pressure from the hole would have.It was getting late. Lee was sprawled out on the sofa, Hercules sat on one of the chairs."So how can Shiro be alive? Didn’t we all say that he couldn't have survived like several times over?"Hercules still trying not to come off as a chauvinistic idiot tried to make light of the conversation."Shiro's dead, just cuz his finger prints on a bit of paper found at your daddies place can't prove that Shiro was there or if he topped your dad"They all turned to look at Barry; it was true what he had said. It did look rather suspicious on Shiro's part. His finger prints found at his late commanders lodgings.Miranda then made it clear that Shiro was in known way connected with the general’s death. This just led to more questions which led more unanswered.PPA did another scan of the document. Lagun's print's were present as where Shiro's the date on the paper was two days before general Kyle was found dead, and Shiro had been dead longer. Where the prints fraudulent? Had Lagun planned the whole thing as an elaborate ruse? John lee sat up with a huff. "So if Shiro is alive where would he likely be?"The group pondering was broken when the coms device lee was wearing started to signal an incoming call."Guy’s we've got a situation and it could be imperial related".

Chapter 5: Roll CallAdmiral Kane called a meeting in the ready room, his long white coat decorated with various medals and pips.He began to pace from one end of the table to the other. He only stopped when the crew of X-Bomber came in, and the he promptly carried on pacing."I am glad you are all hear, I have extremely grave news, a freighter of ships outside the Callinean sector sent a message out 2 days ago issuing a warning of an impending invasion from imperial stragglers. Video conformation showed a large battleship like craft coming over the planets surface. Photos that had been taken also confirmed some imperial architecture incorporated in its design. As we are unaware of what it could be we are readying troops incase of a possible attack.Subaro asked the admiral if Callinean had any information on the ship.None had been reported and since the last two day's had passed there had been no other contact from the freighter. It was decided that the crew of X-bomber would be sent on a reconnaissance mission near to the area. The Professor, aided by Barry Hercules and Space Pilot John Lee would investigate by meeting with the freighter that sent the message.Miranda asked if it would be possible that she went along. Admiral Kane simply said no as there was another urgent matter she must attend to.In to the room shuffled a grey haired tall skinny looking man in glasses. The Admiral introduced him as the leading specialist on moon bases next project in space armament Dr Benedict Denardo. This made Lee chuckle "Dr Benn, who would have thought that there would be another here on moon base".Denardo told the smiling red haired man that he was very good friends with the late Doctor Ben Robinson. Although Dr Ben had no involvement with the design of X-project he oversaw the partial completion of the project. It was in fact Denardo that lent his expertise to getting X-bomber up and running while Subaro was absent."Denardo you old goat, what brings you here?"The two men traded banter over there days constructing the X-project and what had been happening as of recently."I take it that you where also approached by Lagun over the mass produced mobile fleet Hagen?" Denardo's tone changed a little as he talked more with Subaro."Yes but we both know I would have turned him down regardless" said Subaro, what was Denardo fishing for information on? The Professor knew his old friend well but had his 18 years away from moon base really made him this enigmatic towards his colleagues? The Admiral then interrupted the two scientists mid conversation. He attempted to get back to the subject."Dr Denardo has been working on EDF's latest battle cruiser the Class-D type"Subaro looked a little skeptical upon hearing this."So you finally finished her off then?" asked Hagen."Yes it took longer than my time on X-project although you gave me plenty to work with".Miranda asked as to what the D-class was and what made it so special that these two men seemed so enthusiastic about."My dear Ms Kyle. The project D has taken me a full 20 years to complete. Unlike the X-bomber, the Class D is faster, armed with the latest in tactical weaponry, and well lets just say it's got a few more tricks up it's sleeves that it's predecessor.Miranda was commissioned to be its captain but she had very little knowledge of commanding something as impressive as the Class-DShe was asked if she had a ready crew, and yet she hardly knew anyone at moon base.Barry chimed in."Admiral Sir, I'd be more than happy to lend my services to Ms Kyle. As you know I have extensive training as a captain and I've more than once commanded the X-bomber in battle"Miranda smiled at him, she felt a sense of relief that she'd have some help even if it was from Barry Hercules."Well Captain Hercules do you have a crew ready to serve?" asked the AdmiralBarry answered that he had a member of staff on his team that could assemble a team within the hour and that they would be the finest in the fleet. It was agreed and the parties made their ways to the hanger bay's to look at the Class-D cruiser.

Chapter 9 – Blast off into the wide unknown It wasn’t long until Barry spotted a familiar figure in the crowds. Genji had assembled a group at the north of the moon base check in desk. The girl behind it tapped the intercom"Would captain Hercules please report to central station"?Genji gathered his team for inspection."Captain, the crew of x-bombers escort cruiser is ready, awaiting your orders".Hercules walked down the line giving each candidate an icy glance."This the best bunch of misfits you could find at such sort notice Yodama?“Yes sir, best selected candidates the academy has” Genji said showing the crews records to Hercules. Barry continued down the line. What's with the kid? Hikaru Joji the youngest pilot the academy had spawned, only 13, he was above all the other candidates. Strategic planning, fire arms, also tactical prowess. He reminded Hercules of a younger Shiro,"Same look in his eyes, like he could take on the alliance all by himself.-Yodama this isn't kindergarten. I asked for pilot's not children.Genji went over Hikaru's credentials. If these where accurate, then the d-bomber crew had a gifted genius barely out of school.Hikaru spoke up “Sir I assure you I am more than capable and will be a valuable asset to your team. Hercules turned back to the youngster, a look of annoyance on his face. “Kid you ever held a blaster?”Hikaru answered yes“You ever shot one at an oncoming enemy?”“Only in simulation sir”“A real enemy is nothing like a bunch of pixels and programming, there are real ruthless son’s of bitches out there who would not think twice about popping a phaser burst through a kids head”Hercules could see he was making the Young pilot uncomfortable“Then you’ve got the Alliance heads, you can never quite figure out what they would do to you, Kill you, torture you or worse make you one of them”.Hikaru started to sweat “Enough Captain Hercules!!, I’m sure the young pilot can handle himself if the worst was to happen”.The slender but curvy shape of Miranda Kyle stood arms crossed over her ample bosoms.Hercules looked a bit urked not know where to look. Nobody, neither man or woman had told him what to do, and yet the Generals Daughter got to him every time.“Barry?” Miranda could see she’d ticked him off.“Yes Boobs, I mean boss, Ma,am”. Hercules started to sweat a bit “Get you’re troops aboard the Class D, oh and…”“Yes?” said Barry“My face is up here”. She gestured to her flawless face only slightly hidden behind a few brown bangs.Barry gulped, this woman, what was it that got to him, she had that same innocent look that Lamia had but she was tough as old boots with an air of elegance, she swished her hair back and with clip board in hand took off up the ramp. Herc noticed a slight wiggle in her step. “Oh momma, I’m in trouble with this one”.He headed up the ramp with his bag over his shoulder, as the door closed he looked over the courtyard of the hanger. It was then he spotted somebody he thought was long gone.“Shiro!”The door came up, and he tried to lower it again but the magnetic lock had sealed, Barry rushed to a nearby window to see if it was indeed Shiro, but nobody was there.“Man I’ve spent way to much time in space, it’s turning my brains to mush”.He took his place on the bridge and the crew did it’s checksGenji announced the Captain was on the bridge,Susan checked the radios and communications, all where in proper working order.Hikaru turned on the weapons and armaments.Leroy took his place on the main gun turret located under the bridge.Miranda turned to Barry, “Ok captain I believe the next line is yours”.“Yeah, So I was thinking how about after this we have a nice meal out somewhere?”.Miranda gave him a steely gaze, “I meant I think it’s time you addressed the crew and gave them some sort of encouraging speech before we launch”.“Oh sure”.Barry turned to his crew, raised a hand and gestured towards the oncoming cosmos“LET’S GO KICK SOME ALIEN ASS!!!“IDIOT!! – Miranda placed her face in her palm, was he the best person to be put in charge of a newly experimental Battleship? The D-Bomber slightly shook as the engines roared up for the first time. The slight sound of contracting metal creaked about. The monitors flashed and onscreen was Dr Denardo, the expert who built the D-Bomber.“I take it everything is working well Captain?”Hercules looked about the ship and then addressed the monitor“This bucket of bolts should get us out of the hanger without falling apart I take it Doc?”The Doctor got a bit flustered by this quip. “I assure you both Professor Hagen and myself, worked on the D-Project. That so called bucket of bolts will serve you well Captain Hercules”.The hanger doors opened and out of the southern exit came the D-bomber it’s large red and white twin wings just fitting though the gap of the hanger area.“May your journey be swift and safe crew of D-bomber”. Dr Denardo saluted them and in turn did the crew back. And off they set on there mission to the Sargasso colony, Barry Still had that feeling, What happened to Shiro, would the answers he seeks be revealed there?

Chapter 6 As they gathered around the observation deck looking down onto the hanger where the Class-D was stored. The vibrant red and white paint design was similar to that of Dai-X. John Lee asked if the Class-D had the option of storing fighters the same as x-bomber.Denardo said that there was 6 craft stored inside the class-D ship. Located towards the back was a giant rotating cylinder containing the 6 vessels.Looking over the design plans Subaro noted that the locked in bay's could turn and launch 3 craft if need be."It quite impressive what you've done with storing the x-fighters successors".Denardo smiled yes "if you imagineThe barrel of a gun and the way bullets are stored before being fired it's the same principle". He was right not only would launches be simultaneous but the storage of the craft would be better.--------------- need to revise ---------chapter 7Genji Yomada, 24 years old. One of star fleet academies brightest cadets. Training alongside his mentor Captain Barry Hercules, Genji was the only person Barry would trust in a situation the Admiral had appointed him.Setting up a skeleton crew on such short notice would take a keen eye and prior knowledge of the applicant, something Barry never had time for. His ideals of shoot to kill or be killed gave him the nickname Black Reaper, due to his no nonsense attitude to warfare. How could he hand pick a fine crew with only a few hours to spare? He knew that opening his mouth like that was dumb, just trying to impress Miranda without clearly thinking about the outcome. "pure unadulterated idiocy Herc".When he, shiro and lee had been appointed as the X-bombers crew, they had just finished their training and graduated with honours. Even then Edf had detailed profiles on the three of them. Barry immediately thought of Genji when setting up the class-D crew.Barry would be the Commander, Genji his second in command. Miranda would be Captain but Hercules would be her advisor. They would still need tactical, communications, and an engineer.Barry met up With Genji in Star Fleets out of hours bar.Filled with new fresh out of academy cadets all looking to make names for themselves. Genji had brought with him 4 brown profile folders. First up was Leroy, 19 years old, tactical and weapons specialist. Able to think around a situation 4 steps ahead of his enemy. Leroy had spent the last 5 years in the training camps studying close hand combat, advanced weaponry. He once managed to out smart one of the captains in the firing range, simply by knowing where the advancing officer would be before he did.The other cadets thought that maybe he was psychic. Leroy had actually studied the profiles of both the late captain Jack Carter, captain Shiro Hagen and Barry as well. Noting any ways he could improve how they dealt with situations.Although Carter's ideology of trusting instincts over pure tactical prowess had been his motto, Leroy noted that instinct alone was not always the best course of action. In Carter's exception it's what got him captured and indoctrinated into the alliance ranks.Barry was impressed. If Leroy could study an enemy and figure out their moves better than they could, then they would have no problems on their journey running into separatists or remaining alliance members.Time was getting late. Out of the 4 files Leroy had been picked. Genji was one of the 4 and a Susan Amorain who would be the communications operative .So that was 3. With, Miranda, Barry and the on board PPA droid drones all they would need in a walking shag carpet and a pipe smoking old guy.Joking aside Barry noticed the final folder, it only had a few notes in it and nothing more."so whose this profile belong too?" Barry asked.Genji assured him that this candidate was unlike the rest but he had very little data on him.So it was decided they would assemble the crew in the morning and board in Class-D in search of this mysterious vessel that the Callinean's had spotted. Chapter 8 to follow.
