Thunderbirds 720p

Just thought I'd let you know that I'd found an interesting torrent.I'll avoid posting a link to stop the forum getting into trouble but if you search on isoHunt for "Thunderbirds Complete 720p", you'll see what I mean.It might say that there are no seeders but that's only because it's trackerless.The quality is everything you could expect.

That would be from the Blu-Ray release of "Thunderbirds" released sometime in 2010 I think - the only downside to it is the cropping of the aspect ratio. However, the quality is fantastic stuff.I'm not a person into Blu-Ray but it's amazing how a series made in 1965 can look almost like it was made in the last decade

The cropping would really bug me... I'd rather watch a lower resolution version with the correct aspect ratio.

I thought that would annoy me too.It didn't occur to me until I watched the first credits and I wondered how we'd arrived at 16:9.The problem is that nobody wants to watch 4:3 on a 42" screen. It just looks wrong with two huge, black posts down either side. These panels are so huge and sharp that, once you go to 720/1080, going back really isn't an option from the detail point-of-view either.You do lose some height but they've also added at the sides according to the reviews.So the vertical loss is not as much as you would think and it really didn't bother me when I watched.Seems like this guy felt the same way:http://blackholereviews.blogspot.co.uk/ ... in.htmlAnd I agree with him that we really should have UFO on bluray as well.Apparently, Space 1999 is still on the cards, despite all the FUD flying around.I wasn't actually aware that they'd come from a bluray. I figured they'd been recorded from BBC HD or something. I would have been less inclined to download it otherwise, although I have no Bluray drive and I can't be bothered with the clutter of the discs either.
