Some words from Brian May

Postby AndyThomas » Fri Feb 20, 2004 8:56 pm

For obvious reasons this didn't come from the man himself direct, but it did come via the webmistress of http://www.brianmay.com/ and Brian has given permission for me to reproduce it here, so my thanks to him and obviously I'll add this to the site in the very near future:Quote AH! How amazing there's a site for this!Yes, Jimmy and I used to get up incredibly early every Saturday morning and go down to watch the next episode of "Star Fleet" on TV, when he was very young. We loved it!! One of those "Father-Son bonding things!!" It was Jimmy's great idea for me to play the song. Since I had a will to get an impromptu session together with Edward (van Halen) I combined the two threads. It was one of the most exctiting days of my life - the session in the studio - I'll never forget it.Must look at star Fleet again ...Many Thanks to Andy for keeping this out there...Cheersbrian

Shiro, welcome to the forum - if you could try and start a new topic for, well, new topics (!) that would be good as it'll keep similarly themed posts together. There shouldn't be any real issue with releasing an English DVD as the Japanese version already features the old English dub of one of the compilation videos. All it would require is the pasting of the English series soundtrack onto the Japanese DVD master, although the edits are slightly different in particular because the Japanese version has 25 episodes while we only had 24, as I mentioned to you by email. There seems to have been some issue with the rights to the English version for whatever reason, but given that the Japanese footage exists if the English soundtrack is still in reasonable shape somewhere it should be doable.
