« Articles and Scans / Keibunsha 56th Edition

2022.03.26
The name of this publication is ...
Keibunsha All Monsters Phantom Encyclopedia 56th Edition, from December 1980.

It's a thick but small (A6) book with 607 pages, covering all kinds of anime and live-action fantasy and sci-fi series, including Kamen Rider, Ultraman, Gundam as well as X Bomber.

There are 3 pages given over to Star Fleet, including one of the 32 colour pages at the front.

Apparently, this 56th edition is the last one that focusses on monsters. After this, the series features mostly sci-fi and special effects.

I loved this part of the auction description:
Since it is no longer seen at second-hand bookstores and auctions, we will sell it at a high price.
It wasn't all that expensive.
