A couple of years back now, my wife found these 6 Star Fleet exercise books for me on eBay. It's taken me this long to get around to scanning them.
They're quite a bit faded with age but Adobeshop fixed the colour on some of them pretty well:

There are some interesting things related to X-Bomber on Rinkya at the moment too but my Star Fleet quota is reached for the month, I think.

Hey Crash, I can't get that link to work properly, and I'm really curious about these new scans of yours.

Here it is, Vanessa.

Thanks Bladez, I wonder which of those are the pics Crash is referring to?

Good to see you, folks!
Schoolboy error, the space in the address broke the link.
It's the third row, you're looking at for those.

Ah, I see them now, thanks. Interesting that some of the images are photos, and others look like photos that have been painted over.
Nice find!

That's exactly right - some of them are clearly based on photographs but the characters in the foreground have been coloured over, as you say.
I've been improving the site's media section. It now takes a stab at displaying human-readable file-sizes alongside media files. I can improve that further. It also works out what kind of file it should be from the file extension and displays that separately to the filename:
http://www.xbomber.co.uk/?dir=Star%20Fl ... ad%20Smith
These changes need to be applied to the downloads sections too.
What's more relevant to this discussion is that I put the filenames below each image. It took time to do because some of the images have very long numbers as their filenames and I needed away to break those numbers up so that they wouldn't break the layout of table.
I made the media part of the site originally to show off the images of the game originally and I didn't really want filenames shown below the thumbnails.
When you get into the Star Fleet section through, there's all sorts of things mixed up in there which need to have a description below them. Otherwise it's hard to make sense of all that you're looking at.
So, I'm grateful for the feedback on that.
Hopefully, that should make things easier to find.
You can also turn off the filenames on the images:
http://www.xbomber.co.uk/?dir=Star%20Fl ... ai-X/Scans (On)
http://www.xbomber.co.uk/?verbose=0&dir ... ai-X/Scans (Off)

Re: Adventures in Scanning...
That looks really good Crash, quite a bit of work there, but it really makes viewing and locating images much easier.
I couldn't see any difference between the "on" and "off" links though, they both looked like the captions were on.
But to be honest, I'd have them on anyway.
Great work!
